Description

Learn about the different types of environments Earth has to offer. What is an aquatic environment? What is a terrestrial environment? What's the difference between a stream and a river? Your students will be captivated by the pictures of the environmental landscapes and wildlife. Students love the interactive environment identification game and matching the isolated wildlife pictures to correct environment & have fun while learning!

Our lessons and flashcards are developed using concepts and information that are universal in nature and applicable to any state in the country. You can even use them to prepare for state mandated exams.

Your purchase consists of one 38 page lesson, 42 pages of flashcards, and an interactive environment identification game which includes 98 pages of environmental landscapes and 34 pages of isolated wildlife pictures in a single downloadable PDF file. The lesson is designed for viewing on a laptop/tablet or to be printed out. The flashcards are designed to be printed out and do not work as well when viewed on an electronic device. When printing flashcards, ensure you set your printer to your desired size cards, i.e. 5″x7″, 4″x6″. We recommend loading your printer with paper already cut to size for best results.

The lesson is designed for the parent, tutor, or teacher to guide the child through the material. There are many options on how to do this. You can take turns reading each slide and pointing out the pictures and diagrams. The child can read it aloud followed by questions by the adult. The adult can read the slides and ask the child to point out key parts of the slides that correspond to the key words and phrases. There are endless ways for you to link the visualizations to the concepts being taught. The lesson works best when paired with the flashcards which are designed to test your child's grasp of the lesson. Again, the ways to accomplish this are limited only by your imagination.

Our flashcards are not grouped in pairs like most flashcards. We use a three card system with a key word/concept on one card, a picture/diagram on another card, and the definition on the third card. There are numerous ways to use the cards to teach and test your child. You can lay them out one group at a time and read them together. You can lay out the key words and pictures together and have the child match the correct definition. You can mix them all up and have the child match them all. You are truly limited only by your imagination. The flashcards work best when paired with the corresponding lesson and are designed to test your child's grasp of the lesson.

VisualCurriculums lessons and flashcards are designed specifically for children with autism, however neurotypical children love using the lessons and flashcards as fun study guides!
