Description

This 38-slides PowerPoint and student workbook is all you need to give your students a comprehensive overview of German mealtimes and the rich diversity of German dishes. While Germans also like to eat international food, such as pizza, pasta and sushi, this resource focuses on those traditional German dishes that are still very popular.

The PowerPoint includes the following:

  • 5 slides describing German mealtimes (in German)
  • colorful photos of dishes such as

Spargel mit Schinken und Kartoffeln, Currywurst, Wiener Schnitzel mit Fritten,

Sauerbraten mit Rotkohl, Reibekuchen, Erbsensuppe, Sauerkraut, Bratwurst,

Rouladen, Zwiebelkuchen, Kartoffelsalat usw.

  • a 3-slides guessing game
  • 1 slide which talks about the change of some German families now eating their main (hot) meal in the evening (in German and English)

The 7-pages student workbook is designed to keep your students focused during the presentation. It includes:

  • a short text in English about German food
  • matching exercises (match photo with detailed description in English of uniquely German dishes)
  • a comprehensive vocabulary list, English only. Students fill in the German translations while watching the slideshow
  • a true-or-false exercise
