As USA Today reported on December 4, 2023, Allred is representing the family of the minor involved in the Josh Giddey case.
The famed attorney "confirmed via email that she is representing the family of the minor with whom Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey allegedly may have had an improper relationship."
According to the outlet, she "had no further comment."
USA Today also reported that on November 24, NBA spokesman Mike Bass said the league is looking into the allegations, which were made on social media.
Per the outlet, "an anonymous user" made posts that allegedly connected 21-year-old Giddey to an underage female.
The Oklahoma City Thunder player and coach Mark Daigneault declined to comment on the allegations when asked at the basketball team's media availability on November 24.
On November 29, USA Today reported that The Newport Beach Police Department (NBPD) in California is investigating the allegations.
NBPD said in a statement: "The Newport Beach Police Department is aware of information being circulated online involving an alleged relationship between professional basketball player Josh Giddey and a female minor.

"The Newport Beach Police Department is actively seeking additional information related to these allegations and pursuing all leads and evidence to obtain the facts of the case.
