Philodendron brandtianum

Philodendron brandtianum

The Philodendron brandtianum is native to the rainforests of South America and endemic to a number of countries including Peru, Brazil, Bolivia and Southern Columbia. Known for its silvery foliage, it was at one point a rare and sought after species.

The juvenile form of this philodendron retains its silver foliage as a form of protection from direct sunlight however as it climbs towards the canopy it begins to adopt greener larger leaves. In cultivation this plant can be grown as a climber or trailing (or a mix of both).
