Troy Meyer made Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings a major promise.

During the quick interviews between rounds, Ken reminded Troy about the promise. The contestant explained: "I promised you for TOV I'd try to learn all trivia." The trivia mastermind, though, may not have been able to be completely successful. When Ken tried to ask about his progress, Troy said: "All I can say is I tried and imagine those training montages of the movie Creed, but much more dorky version and way less Sylvester Stalone."

So, while he tried, it doesn't look like Troy was able to be fully successful. He made a comeback in the end, though, and ended up winning. He competed against Ben Chan and Yogesh Raut, beating them with $22,000. Fans loved watching the brainiac compete. One wrote: "Watching tonight's Jeopardy match reminds me why I've been tuning in every night since the 80's. Intense play & great comebacks like Troy had in the DJ! round.

Three great players that inspire me so much. I sure felt Troy's emotion at the moment of victory." Another said: "What a performance by Troy in Double Jeopardy in the last semifinals match. Congrats to him for being in the finals."

Troy is a Tampa Bay native who has competed on the show before. His original and impressive five game winning streak sent him home with $214,802. After returning home, he told 10 Tampa Bay's Miguel Octavio that the experience was a "dream come true."

He admitted that he had tried (

Jeopardy has been a major part of Troy's life beyond just the winnings. As a super fan he met his wife, Genevieve Sheehan, on a website that was dedicated to the show and, in 2009, she competed. He said: "It's sort of the strangest way to like see someone in person for the first time."

Fans also noticed something unique about Troy on the show. They thought that he was sitting down while the competition was underway which isn't normal. "Do they have chairs/stools on jeopardy? Looks like Troy is standing in front of something," asked one fan. Another explained: "Apparently Troy has a disability where he is unable to stand comfortably for periods at a time."
