Scottish weather: Storm Darcy sparks VERY rude snow penis trend as cheeky Scots show off 6ft creations

STORM Darcy has caused chaos across the country with the UK's coldest temperature in 26 years, crashes and roads blocked by snow.

But cheeky Scots have still found a way to have some fun with the heavy flurries - building 6ft snow penises.

BAFTA-winning telly writer Neil Forsyth shared snaps of the hilarious creations in Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow on social media.

Posting on Twitter, the Guilt writer joked: "Scotland welcomes the snow with both unity and dignity."

Meanwhile, one Scot spent hours sculpting an enormous snow willy in Pilrig Park in Edinburgh on Wednesday morning.

Hilarious images were posted online with locals claiming no one took offence at the eight-foot adult themed shaping.

Reuben Taylor posted: “The guy building it looked very proud. Kids were quite happy playing around it.”

And social media users are loving them, as one quipped: "Love snowballs."

Another cheeky Twitter user questioned: "Are they the new statues of Johnson?"

And a third said: “Snow penises are the one of the seven wonders of the silly world.”

Elsewhere, creative Scots modelled a snowman to look like ex-US President Donald Trump - and made a dig at his Twitter ban with a fake 'SNOTUS' account.

But there's also been some very wholesome snow creations.

A bricklayer who misses building homes during lockdown made an incredible igloo for his family.

Barry Wightman, 40, of Glenmavis, Airdrie, has seen his plans to return to work hit by the extreme weather.

But the self-employed dad-of-two decided that to keep himself busy he’d make this impressive snow sculpture with sons Ty, 14, and Clay, 10, in their garden.

And three-year-old pooch Bruno enjoyed playing in an igloo at an Edinburgh park.

Meanwhile a group of teenagers have been blamed for building a massive snowball and rolling into the middle of a main road in Prestonpans, East Lothian.

Concerned residents called the police to deal with the large icy obstacle after it was spotted blocking traffic at the town’s High Street on Wednesday night.

Local authority workmen were later seen moving the snowball off the road and breaking it up.

We told earlier how the UK has faced its coldest temperature in 26 years after a -22.9C freeze in Scotland.

The bone-chilling temperature was recorded in Braemar, Aberdeenshire, this morning.

The remote village has broken its own record for the lowest temperature ever recorded in the UK - having experienced -27.2C on December 30, 1995.

Confirming the stat, the Met Office said: "Braemar has now fallen to -22.9°C making it provisionally the coldest night since 1995."
