THE former child star is now 30 and looks almost unrecognisable
THE Santa Clause is among the classic Christmas movies you’re bound to catch over the festive period.
The 1994 movie – which kicked off a series of three – starred Tim Allen as a divorced dad who accidentally kills Santa and is roped into taking his place the following Christmas.
But what happened to the cute little kid who played Tim’s son Charlie?
Eric Lloyd was just eight years old when he starred in the Hollywood hit, but he was already an acting veteran.
In fact his career began at the age of two, when he appeared as a young Fred Savage in episodes of The Wonder Years and he starred in the series Laurie Hill at the age of five.
After his turn in the original movie Eric – real name David Eric Lloyd Morelli – starred in the TV series Jesse and appeared in a few TV shows before returning to the part of Charlie the two Santa Clause sequels in 2002 and 2006.
The Christmas cutie is now 30 and has had a more convincing transformation than his screen dad underwent in the movie.
After that the acting was put on the back burner for a new career as a music producer as well as playing with his band, Radiomason.
In 2014, he opened a music studio with his pal Tyler Payne in California.
In a recent Ask Me Anything thread on Reddit he described himself as the guy who “watched Tim Allen kill Santa Claus in The Santa Clause”.
But he told fans that it didn’t ruin his belief in Father Christmas.
He said: “Actually, it kind of strengthened my belief in Santa,” thanks to his mum.
He revealed and encounter with the “real Santa” who was flown in by helicopter to the movie’s premiere.
He said: “On the way to the premiere, I told my mum in the limo how I was going to know if he was the real Santa or not.
“I said "I sent him a letter asking him for this toy. But what I really want now is a kitten." So right then, my mom said "oh crap! I told him the toy!"
“So when we got to the premiere, my dad took me and my sister down the red carpet, and my mom ran to the first PA she could find with a walkie and said: "You gotta radio the helicopter and tell Santa he wants a kitten!"

“So when the first Santa came out of the helicopter and walked over to me, he leaned over and whispered in my ear "We're gonna have to get you that kitten!"
