The potato croquettes contain milk, making them unsafe for those with a milk intolerance or allergies.

Lidl confirmed all batches and all best before dates of the two 600g pack products are being recalled.

In a notice on the Food Safety Authority of Ireland website, food chiefs said: "Due to a distribution error, Lidl Ireland is recalling the two products, as the product labels are not in English.

"Both products contain milk. This may make the food unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of milk or constituents of milk."

Earlier this month, Dunnes Stores issued an urgent recall on several of their own-brand yogurts due to the possible presence of rubber pieces.

Four batches and four flavours of Dunnes’ popular Simply Better yogurt range were affected by the recall.

Dunnes said the recall was being carried out as a “precautionary measure” due to the possible presence of rubber pieces in certain batches.
