Limerick’s quiet IT giant AMCS spends €470m on deals

AMCS International, a Limerick-headquartered global provider of environmental services software, achieved a valuation of over €1.3 billion following a bumper fundraising last year when two American venture capital funds each committed over $100 million, The Sunday Times has learnt.

Newly filed accounts also reveal that the company, headed by Co Tipperary entrepreneur Jimmy Martin, spent €470 million on three acquisitions last year: Quentic, a German environmental health and safety software developer; Utility Cloud, a US developer of asset management software; and Merchant Broker, a Canadian payments company.

The acquisitions helped to drive a 59 per cent increase in annual recurring revenues to €136.6 million. Earnings before tax, interest, depreciation and amortisation rose 35 per cent to €21 million in 2022.
