Talking to Naomi Wolf is like walking through a blizzard. There is a hail of opinion, a lot of bluster and an occasional glimmer of clear sky. Mostly though, it is just very hard work.

Until quite recently, Wolf was a darling of the liberal left. Her first book, The Beauty Myth, which was published in 1990, is credited with kick-starting feminism’s “third wave”.
