Stephen Carr has visited the new Tottenham Hotspur — the pristine, five-star training ground, the magnificent new stadium in London N17 — but the man who was once the club’s youngest Premier League player having just turned 17 knows from personal experience that a part of the club will never change as long as Daniel Levy is chairman.

“The stadium and the training ground are the best I have ever seen,” he says. “It is incredible. He [Levy] has done an unbelievable job. It is a very, very well-run club. Will they ever be a Chelsea or a Manchester City and spend all that money? No they won’t, they never will, unless a new owner comes in.”
