“Get on someone’s nerves” is one of the most common idioms that Nan and I use (and hear). It means to ‘irritate or annoy someone.’
For example, “The noisy, chatty couple inside the movie theater got on Henry’s nerves, especially when they talked over a key line of dialogue.”
