Jewell G Castleberry

Jewell “Jerri” Castleberry passed away on February 18 , 2024 at the age of 92 in Chattanooga, TN.      

She was born on March 9,1931 in Chattanooga, TN. She is of the Baptist faith and has enjoyed the fellowship of churches on Lookout Mountain, GA and in Sparta, TN. At a very young age, she placed her faith and trust in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 

She has been a seamstress, a florist assistant, enjoyed crocheting, making porcelain dolls, canning, and cooking. 

Jewell was the matriarch of 5 generations for over 9 years 

She is preceded in death by her parents William Arthur and Nancy Ethel Beck Thompson, three brothers Farries Thompson, Jack Thompson and Rudolph Thompson, her husband of 55 years Robert E. Castleberry, her son Farris E. “Butch” Castleberry, her daughter Martha Harris and grandson Michael Howell. 

She is survived by her daughter Dianne and son-in-law David Howell, son-in-law Dennis Harris, 5 grandchildren Lacretia (Steron) Nichols, Vicki (Scott) Syjut, Le-An (Shaw) King, Greg (Lori) Ledford, Brian (Shelly) Ledford, granddaughter-in-law Courtney Howell, 7 great-grandchildren Justin (Katie) Nichols, Brandon Nichols, Dalton King, Christopher King, Landon King, Landon Howell, Owen Howell, one great-great grandson Callan Nichols. 

ARRANGEMENTS: 

Graveside service will be Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. Officiating will be Bro. Danny Moore, pastor of Shiloh Independent Church. Interment will be at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
