Nissan has built a reputation for innovation, style, and performance across the brand. If you take the time on your Indianapolis commute to look around, you'll see Nissan cars, trucks, and SUVs all around you. Now more than ever, buyers tend to favor the SUV, and Nissan's lineup offers variety in size, interior amenities, and technology.

If you're looking to buy a used Nissan SUV, you've come to the right place. Tom Wood Nissan has an expansive inventory of used Nissan SUVs, loaded with features you'll love and priced attractively. To help you decide which Nissan SUV fits you best, we've created this rundown of features and benefits you can expect by model.

Nissan Rogue

One of the most popular SUVs on the road today, Nissan's Rogue offers an easy driving experience at one of the most affordable prices in its category. You'll enjoy a roomy, quiet cabin. Many used Rogue SUVs come with a premium cloth interior, although the higher trim levels add leather-appointed seats. It isn't uncommon to find heated seats as well.

As 2014 was a redesign year, you'll find Rogue SUVs manufactured in 2014 and newer to include a suite of driver-assist systems. Nissan added forward collision warning, blind-spot warning, lane departure warning, a back-up camera, and automatic emergency braking to the redesign.

Also, part of the redesign was an optional third-row seat. From 2014-2017, buyers could opt for this third row on S and SV trim levels. In addition, this third row allows for up to seven passengers, something not yet done with a compact SUV.

In addition, Nissan began including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in 2018 models as a standard feature. These systems sync cellphones with the Rogue's infotainment system to provide drivers with hands-free calling, texting, music streaming, and more with the use of intuitive voice commands.

After 2014, the Rogue's sleek styling mainly remained the same, with only minor updates to grilles, headlights, and contours. In 2020, Nissan unveiled the third generation Rogue, which added a more bold and capable exterior style. The use of a new platform didn't dramatically change the dimensions of the third generation Rogue. However, updates to the interior added semi-aniline leather and heated rear seats to the mix. Outside, the Rogue added signature lighting systems to the boxier, squared-off front fascia, creating a distinctively athletic look.

Under the hood, minor tweaks to the powertrain were done, such as a new direct-injection four-cylinder engine. However, the new Rogue continued to use Nissan's capable, continuously variable transmission to deliver smooth, responsive acceleration. Buyers have always had the option to go with all-wheel-drive, but drivers have enjoyed the capable front-wheel-drive models.

The introduction of the third generation Rogue resulted in many late-model Rogue SUVs saturating the market, making buying a used Rogue an attractive prospect. You'll find many with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Nissan Murano

From 2003, the Murano was Nissan's only midsize crossover SUV in the U.S. until the Rogue came on the scene in 2008. Currently, in its third generation, this SUV has always come with performance and luxury features that set it apart from the competition. Four trims offer various levels of amenities, while the top-end Platinum trim (formerly the LE trim) delivers standard features such as leather-appointed seating, real wood trim, and standard intelligent all-wheel-drive.

Models from 2014 and newer come with Nissan's 3.5-liter V-6 engine that puts out 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque. In 2019, the Murano received a facelift, updating the front and rear fascias and adding Nissan's Safety Shield 360 suite of driver-assist technology. If you want a capable SUV with a luxurious look and feel, the Murano from 2015 and newer delivers.

Nissan Pathfinder

Nissan's Rogue SUV tops the sales charts for Nissan, but the Pathfinder delivers much more in performance, cabin comfort, and cargo space. The Pathfinder first came on the scene in 1985 as a two-door SUV with an option for four-wheel drive meant to compete with the Blazer, Bronco II, and Cherokee SUVs.

In early 2021, Nissan began the Pathfinder's fifth generation. Before this, the latest facelift occurred in 2017, which added a new front fascia, LED lighting, and a motion-activated liftgate. Nissan continued using a V-6 engine but added direct injection that put out 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. The fourth-generation V-6 engine without direct injection had slightly lower numbers with 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque.

Models manufactured from 2014 to 2020 began featuring the latest tech, such as the touch-screen display, Bluetooth streaming technology, and Nissan's navigation system. Similar to the Rogue timeline, Nissan started to add Apple CarPlay and Android Auto after the 2017 facelift.

In addition, the fourth-generation Pathfinder came in front-wheel drive or with a more capable 4x4 option, which included an upgraded off-road suspension package. If you're looking for a capable SUV on and off the road that can tow up to 6,000 pounds, we recommend finding a Pathfinder from 2014 or newer. If you're interested in more in-vehicle tech and driver-assist systems, models manufactured from 2017 and newer offer more than previous years.

Nissan Armada

Nissan began production of the Armada in 2004 when it split from the Pathfinder to become its own model. A full-size SUV with all the trappings of a luxury vehicle and a powerful engine make the Armada an excellent option for the full-size family.

The second-generation Nissan Armada hit the streets in 2017, which combined the power of the Endurance V-8 engine with the luxury of Nissan's sister company's INFINITI QX80 SUV. From then on, these vehicles shared the same platform, offering Nissan access to features at lower production costs. As a result, you'll find many 2017 to 2019 models in two- and four-wheel-drive configurations, upgraded interiors, and the latest in-vehicle tech at reasonable prices.

Nissan has refreshed the exterior for 2021 models, giving it a bolder, more capable look as they did throughout their SUV lineup. This refresh resulted in many late-model Armada SUVs hitting the used market as people traded up for the latest design.
