Northridge is a San Fernando Valley neighborhood that’s home to Cal State Northridge.

Northridge is at the far northwest end of the Valley, 32 miles from downtown L.A.

In 1938, its name was changed from North Los Angeles to Northridge to avoid confusion with nearby North Hollywood.

With nearly 40,000 students enrolled at Cal State Northridge, surrounding areas are filled with apartments and condos.
