    What is this drama resource?

We've created this back-to-school drama resource to save you time on planning during those busy first few weeks of term!

This drama resource includes various ideas for games and activities to use in your drama lessons with Year 3 or 4 students. Each game is accompanied by lovely illustrations of children participating in the activity as well as clear instructions so you know exactly how to deliver the game to your class.

If you're looking for more back-to-school resources to try with LKS2 pupils, we've got you covered! Make sure to check out this lovely Back to School Sudoku.

What skills does this drama resource teach children?

Use these teaching ideas to explore a range of drama skills with Year 3 and Year 4 pupils, including improvisation, mime, role play and characterisation.

The ideas in this drama resource are perfect for improving students' confidence and communication skills.

We also have word association games that develop students' creative thinking skills as well as an alphabet game that practises alliteration.

For more like this, take a look at our other drama resources:

Our BFG Drama Activities Pack includes lots of fun-filled ideas on how to incorporate your teaching on this popular novel into drama lessons.

This PowerPoint introduces children to the features of a playscript, familiarising them with the key elements. It can be used to support learning in both Drama and English classes.

This Drama Resource Pack combines RE and Drama by getting children to create drama pieces based on the Easter Story.

What is a fun game to play in drama class?

Scene Change is a fun and creative drama game to try out with your class.

The teacher tells the class they are going to recreate a scene such as a holiday photo or a Christmas scene and each child will pose as if they are part of the scene, for example they could be building a sandcastle or decorating a Christmas tree!

Gradually, the teacher will ask more children to take part in the scene, either joining children in the activities they're doing or thinking of a new one to add.

For more fun games, make sure to download our drama resource pack.
