The total mean estimate of gross unrisked contingent resources at the find, made last year in Talisman-operated Block K44, has now increased to more than 1 billion barrels of oil equivalent, including oil, gas and condensate, according to the independent reserves assessment by Sproule International.
The figure has ballooned after an increase of mean contingent oil resources in the field’s Oligocene reservoir from 147 million to 435 million barrels, while 155 million barrels of oil are being recorded in the Eocene reservoir for the first time, lifting the oil tally to 590 million barrels.
