'One of the hardest decisions': Eve reveals she's leaving 'The Talk,' wants to grow her family

After three years and four seasons, Eve is done with "The Talk."

The 41-year-old rapper, whose full name is Eve Jihan Jeffers Cooper, announced Monday that she will no longer appear as a host on the program after December, saying it's "been a crazy year."

"I’ve been so grateful that I’m able to stay here in London and do the show," Eve told her co-hosts, while appearing in the studio remotely. "But I can’t see, for me, the foreseeable future of traveling back at the moment."

Eve, who has co-hosted the CBS talk show since 2017, also shared her love for her fellow hosts and everyone working behind the scenes.

"This is one of the hardest decisions in the world, because I wish I hated one of you, but I don’t," she joked. "It would just make it so much easier."

The rapper also described how being a part of the show has changed her.

"I have had the most beautiful experience," she said. "I’ve grown as a woman, as a person. I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again: I never thought that being on a talk show would be this much of an opening of my spirit, soul, personality, everything. Sitting onstage with all you women has been the best thing ever. I truly love you."

Eve added that she hopes to spend time away from the show with her husband, British entrepreneur Maximillion Cooper, "expanding our family, being with my family."

USA TODAY has reached out representatives for Eve for further comment.

On 'The Talk,' Eve calls 'uncomfortable' race conversations with white husband 'a beautiful thing'

After her announcement, Eve's co-hosts expressed how much they'll miss having her on "The Talk," while supporting her decision.

"Real friends support each other," said Carrie Ann Inaba, who hugged Eve's screen after her announcement. "We all support you.”

Sharon Osbourne told Eve that she loves and respects her "always, always, always."

"There is a big place here for you always in my heart," she added. "I just want you to be happy."

Sheryl Underwood joked that Eve and Cooper should "hurry up so I can be an auntie.”

"We’re trying," Eve replied. "We’re working on it."

This isn't the first time Eve has gotten candid about her marriage and personal life. During an episode of the "The Talk" in June, the hosts discussed the death of George Floyd, with Eve describing how she and her husband, who is white, were talking about racism, even though these discussions can be uncomfortable.

"These conversations have to be had," she said. "I am in an interracial relationship. I am having some of the most difficult and uncomfortable conversations I think I've ever had, and vice versa, with my husband."

Eve has been married to Cooper, 48, since 2014. According to her, their conversations about race, though difficult, have been "a beautiful thing."
