Monica Belluci, Vincent Cassel to divorce

It looks like an irreversible split for Monica Belluci and Vincent Cassel.

The Italian actress, 48, and her French actor husband, 46, announced that they are separating after 14 years of marriage "by mutual agreement," Huffington Post reported on Monday.

Belluci and Cassel met on the set of the 1996 French film The Apartment and married in 1999. They have two daughters -- Deva, 7, and Leonie, 3.

Cassel is known to American audiences for his work in Black Swan, Eastern Promises, The Messenger,Elizabeth and Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen.

Belluci's film roles include The Matrix Reloaded, Tears of the Sun and Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ. In 2011, Men's Healthranked her No. 21 on its list of "The 100 Hottest Women of All Time."

Belluci and Cassel shared screentime in the controversial 2002 film Irreversible, which was released in the USA in 2003 without a rating. Critic Roger Ebert called it "a movie so violent and cruel that most people will find it unwatchable."
