Obverse: A PLAVTIVS AED CVR S C. Turreted head of Cybele facing right.
Reverse: BACCHIVS IVDAEVS. Bearded male figure kneels right with palm branch in left hand, alongside camel.
Quality specimen of this very interesting and scarce issue, in EF- condition, conserving complete details on both sides, very bold reliefs and a delicious silver.
The name Bacchius makes reference to Aristobulus II, High Priest and King of Judaea. This issue was struck to commemorate the submission of Aristobulus II to Pompey.
