In the Venn Diagram of fashion fanatics and Marvel die-hards, we can only assume that the overlap is relatively scant. But today, that intersection proved noteworthy thanks to one Angelina Jolie.
The actor, philanthropist, and Atelier Jolie founder attended the Broadway premiere of The Outsiders, of which she is a co-producer, alongside her children Vivienne and Pax. But while she may be turning toward the theater now, Jolie paid homage to her superhero movie past. The Oscar winner dipped her toe into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2021, playing Thena in Chloé Zhao’s The Eternals. While she hasn’t returned to the superhero giant since, that didn’t stop her from borrowing the fashion last night.
Jolie wore a flowing, russet cape, which clasped with a single button at the top. When open, the cape revealed her champagne-colored silk bias cut dress underneath. She accessorized with a pair of oversized, geometric Saint Laurent earrings that mixed gold and platinum. She also added a black Dior Toujours clutch, and a pair of red, strappy peep-toe heels which coordinated with her bright red lip.
So, perhaps we won’t be seeing Angelina Jolie reprise her superhero role anytime soon—between her producing and fashion efforts, she is a very busy woman—but that isn’t stopping her from taking the style with her.
