I ordered these in thanks guving time. Got for so cheap. Fully functional. The sub woofer is better than the one's we buy individually. We have to spend hundreds buy a single sub only. But this comes with 5 speakers and a sub that perform better. The speakers are little heavier than other brands but that is okay for the price we got them and how nice they perform.

I bought a 135" screen and projector. I added these guys as home theatre speakers. They give a nice movie theatre feeling.

I purchased this speaker set on Cyber Monday 2018. The website had the list price as $599 and they were on sale for a "limited" time for $169. I say "limited" because since my purchase I have noticed them discounted again for the same price and have come to find that they have been frequently discounted for this price over the past several years (google search "HKTS 16 slickdeals"). For those looking to buy this set I would keep that price point in mind. 

Shipping...
At the time of my order the item was on "back-order" and wasn't expected to be back in stock for 4 weeks. However, I was quite pleased when they came in stock and arrived about 2.5 weeks after ordering. 

Packaging...
The speaker set arrived very well packaged. I was quite impressed. Everything is secured with foam padding and well organized in a thick cardboard box. In the box you get: 5 satellite speakers with speaker wires, 1 sub-woofer, the manual, mounting hardware, and an LFE wire for the sub.

The style...
The speaker units and sub-woofer feel very well made. They are heavy and firm. I was originally not a very big fan of the vertical rounded style of the speakers (I thought they looked like Amazon Echos). However, after receiving and placing them, I believe they are quite stylish and blend in well with my setup. The speakers are covered mostly by a firm black mesh, except for small parts on the top/bottom and backside that are a glossy black. The center speaker has a very similar style but sits horizontal and not vertical. The sub is medium in size and all glossy black. I won't be able to comment on wall mounting as I do not currently have them mounted, but I am glad they came with the hardware (though I have heard they are tricky to mount).

Sound and functionality...
I'll open this section by saying I am not an audiophile but have a higher appreciation for quality sound than the average person. However, this is my first 'premium' quality speaker purchase. Overall I am very pleased with the sound of this speaker set. Each of the main satellites has three speaker drivers within them (a small tweeter and two mid-range drivers). Sound is loud and crisp. Bass from the sub is more than deep enough for me (I don't even turn it past halfway). Keep in mind you will need a separate receiver to power these speakers. I mated this set with my newly purchased Sony STR-DH590 Receiver. I believe the quality of sound output you get out of these speakers will depend, at least partly, upon the quality of receiver you purchase. My receiver is a budget friendly AV receiver but the sound output impresses nonetheless. You may need to play around with the countless tuning options and sound profiles of your particular receiver to find the sound you like best. The speakers themselves have no adjusts except for the sub-woofer which has some bass adjustments on the unit itself. Otherwise everything goes through the receiver. And remember it is not just the receiver/speakers that dictate sounds quality, it is the sound source (CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, Spotify, etc).

Final thoughts...
For the price of this speaker set, I could not be happier. Are there better sounding speakers out there? Oh I'm sure. But unless you are a true audiophile, I doubt you would ever need anything better than this set. Either way, if you are upgrading from TV speakers, you will be shocked by what you have been missing out on. I plan on keeping these for many years to come and certainly hope they will last. If you do some research you will see many people claim the sub-woofer fails very quickly. I will return to update my review if it does. But so far everything is great.

Quality Speakers. Got Them On Sale For $169

I bought this thinking that the sub-woofer was the "receiver" much like a PC sound system; I wasn't unnecessarily disappointed to find out this wasn't the case, becasue those systems are very limited. Never-the-less I am very happy with the system, the sound is brilliant, the speakers are well built, the box came with everything one might need to set the system up, and the price was right!

solid speakers

I got these couple months ago on sale and using with Denon AVR-X2000 receiver.

This is my first home theater set but I am happy with the result so far. The speakers are pretty powerful and the sound has been crystal clear - I use them for movies and music although I have not yet listened to the non-compressed music, but Pandora & iTunes sound nice. Very good and clear mids. The power is abundant for 12x16 ft setting (I cannot go over 80-85% of volume without starting to cringe).

I do not have them mounted yet and I've heard that it may be tricky, but no complaints there at this point.

My only complaint would be about the build - there are some pretty obvious glue traces on the back of some of the speakers - it's visible in the cracks where the grill wrapping around the speaker meets the plastic backing (and glue is squished when they were attached). Nothing sticks out and it's not visible from the front anyway but it just does match the "premium" brand and look of the product otherwise.

Sounds good, build is ok

We've had an older Harman/Kardon home audio system for years.  Our subwoofer gave out so I decided to look for a replacement and came across this incredible deal for the HKTS 16.  It was compatible with our old HK AVR 330 receiver so it was a no-brainer.  The sound quality is lush and the subwoofer design is stunning!  It's so much more compact than our previous model and it's designed with legs so looks very sleek in the black finish.  So HAPPY with this, received free 2 day shipping so got it just in time to gift the family for Christmas.  Love HARMAN/KARDON!

received the system very fast with the 2nd day shipping.  System is incredibly sharp looking and overall I'm happy as it fits our compact condo space very well.  My only complaint is as others have mentioned the bass is very lacking from the speakers.  The subwoofer itself is solid but the speakers alone are somewhat hollow sounding.  Again this is ok as we are in a condo with close neighbors but I had expected more.  Also as others have stated the wall mounts are difficult to use.  I was lucky and had studs behind the TV that positioned them well but if you had to use wall anchors in dry wall I think you would end up creating quite a mess and ultimately fail to make them work.  Lastly I think anyone on here giving a One start review because they didn't realize what they were actually purchasing and the fact a receiver is not included is comical and should have their reviews flagged as it does nothing to contribute others considering the system on its actual performance.

Great looking and good sounding speakers. Good packaging and prompt shipping too. Not as durable though - Subwoofer lasted slightly over 1 year for me. HK did not honor the warranty which i thought was two years but now they say it was one-year. In trying to search for getting the woofer repaired, i came across multiple posts regarding HKTS woofers going bad. So please do some research before you buy. 

I primarily bought these over other brands because I needed white speakers to go with the rest of the living room and there weren't many other choices. They looked as good as I expected them to and sounded fairly good too in a fairly large living room.
