Walkie Talkie Experience For The Great Outdoorsyes

I bought these to keep up with my grandson while he is playing outside. My husband got in the car and drove 5 miles away to test the product. They worked perfectly! I highly recommend these if you are looking for an inexpensive way to keep in touch with loved ones when a cell phone is not an option.

Great product!

I was excited for this walkie talkie. It's easy to set up and has rechargeable batteries. I showed my kids how to use it and had one outside the house in the sunroom while the other was inside. It's easy to operate and it's clearer for us within 10 miles while walking which is reasonable for us. Love it and will recommend it

Love it

These Walkie Talkies with 2 way radios are pretty awesome! Top quality design & very durable! They were easy to assemble. Highly recommend reading directions fully. Just while about the house we have tested them out and they seem to be working just fine. Getting ready for a road trip and planning to take them and put them to the real test!

Great Setup

This set of walkie talkies has many impressive features, but the most significant is the ability to send sound loudly and very clear. My brothers had walkie talkies and my sons had them, so I am familiar with how a good one is supposed to operate and in my opinion, these are some of the best I've seen. I ordered them to come in the mail and upon opening them, first thing I noticed was the sturdy quality of the device itself. Many walkie talkies are made of such flimsy materials that you know as soon as you lay eyes on them that if you were to drop one, they would be no more good. You can 'feel' the quality and know that these walkie talkies will withstand the use of 'boys' and those even tougher! They come well packaged and with batteries (the good kind of batteries and not the cheap ones), and they are easy to operate and the instructions are clear and simple. ...But the sound conveying quality just blew me away! It was fantastic and I am so glad I chose to purchase these as a birthday gift for my godson!

Loud and Clear

Needed some two way radios and decided to try the 2pk Onn 16 mile Walkie Talkies. This set of walkie talkies is advertised as rechargeable but you don't get rechargeable batteries with the set. You get 6 regular AA alkaline batteries in the packaging along with charging cables which are to be used only with rechargeable NiHM batteries. The walkie talkies feel durable and fit perfectly in your hands. The battery covers are easy to remove along with the belt clips when you need to change the batteries. I've had other walkie talkies where I broke the battery cover clip trying to open it and also broke a belt clip because it was so hard to get off. Took these outside with my wife and we walked our property through the woods and the clarity of the walkie talkies was very clear. Now we weren't more than a mile apart so not so sure on the up to 16 miles. I did get in my vehicle and drove into town with a walkie talkie and my wife stayed at home. I believe I got about 3/4 of a mile away and we started breaking up when trying to communicate. I believe this was due to all the interference with all the wires going through town. The specs for these walkie talkies are up to 16 miles mountain to valley, up to 8 miles in open water and up to 1 mile in the neighborhood. In the open I feel they work great and will serve their purpose. The LED light is a nice feature and is pretty good for the size of the bulb. My plan for these is when I'm fishing with my friend in our kayaks. The weather scan is also a nice feature and has 11 channels but you only get updates if some sort of weather is expected. There are 7 levels of volume which will make it easy to hear with any environment. The call button works well, too. There are 22 channels which I feel are plenty as I never had any issues with other parties on the radios. Overall, these are very nice walkie talkies. Would have been great if they came with rechargeable batteries but I'll get some after the AA's run out of juice.

Nice Two way Radios

I bought these to keep in touch with my kids on our large property. I wasn't expecting much out of these because of the cheap price but boy was I surprised at all the features. Twenty two different channels to talk on, built in weather channels to stay up to date on the current weather and they even have a built in flash light. They supposedly work from up to a 16 mile range, although I have not tested them at that distance I can tell you they work perfect at over 5 miles. They have a very easy to read and understand back lit lcd screen to show you every thing that is or isn't turned on. A cool call button that will send a ringing type notification if you are not near the walkie talkie. Everything comes packaged very well and they are very easy to put together that I didn't even need to read the instructions. They are very small and portable and can easily fit in your front or back pocket. And the best part in today's expensive world is that the batteries are included. Would have been nice to have a rechargeable battery but for the price it is definitely not a deal breaker.

Works great

These Onn brand Walkie Talkies are the “base level” set that most manufacturers carry. This set is the store brand and offers most of the features you will find on entry level radios. That said, for the price, they would be fine for light duty use or to have a cheaper set for the kids to use. The main upgrade on these that I have not had on my previous sets is the recharge capability. However, be aware that this set does not include the rechargeable batteries – only the standard. It does include the charging cords if you choose to upgrade the batteries to rechargeable. The lightweight radios are built out of standard plastic with buttons on the front, battery cover on rear, and belt clip slot above the battery compartment. The battery cover latch feels a little flimsy, but doesn't appear that it would break easily because of the way it is configured. One annoying thing is the belt clip requires removal to replace the batteries. Therefore, if I was going to use these regularly, I would definitely use rechargeable batteries. The belt clip itself seems light duty also so I am not sure how well it would hold up under constant use. As far as features, these have a decent 16 mile range, but that is hindered in wooded areas, etc. They offer 22 channels to minimize interference and include weather channels. There is also a built in LED light that could come in handy for quick access. Overall, these are a good entry level set for a good price.

Good price for a light duty set

I had these walkie talkie for a few days and tested them out twice. Two of the main things that contribute to losing two stars are. #1. It says 16 mile range and I would have been impressed if it reached half that far, but the range is more like 1 mile. My son had one at home while my other son was in the car with me. Once we turned the corner of our block and made it maybe half way up the next street the communication just stopped barely a mile from our home. This happened a second time when testing with my daughter. #2. The battery life is terrible. Using the provided batteries after one day of this testing, which was only for a short time, the next day one bar from the battery strength was gone. Why not provide rechargeable batteries if you provide the charging cable? At the very least this would have persuaded me to give one more star.  For hiking and maybe bike rides these can be handy since you'll most likely be close enough to each other but saying 16 miles range is a far stretch from experience.

About 1mile range no way 16 & battery life no good

Clearly states in description that it comes with rechargeable batteries but does not. Came with junk batteries. Only reason i ordered was it was supposed to come with rechargeable batteries. If it would've this would be an ok deal but without you may aswell buy kids walkie-talkies for half the price it's the same thing.
