Popcorn Flower
This little annual herb grows to about 8-27 inches tall and plays a part in the famous spring California Wildflower show that attracts many photographers each year.
The popcorn like flowers appear in the spring from March-May. It does best in full sun and planted among grasses and other flowering annuals.
With plenty of water in the winter it will give you a full display with no additional water in the spring.
Native American uses include the harvesting of the leaves as edible greens, and a purple dye from the stems and root.
