Deborah Weiner to co-anchor 11 News at 6 & 11; Ashley Hinson joins 11 News at 5 & 10

WBAL-TV 11 has announced that Deborah Weiner will join Stan Stovall weeknights as co-anchor of Baltimore's No. 1 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts. At the same time, Ashley Hinson will join WBAL-TV to co-anchor the station's 5 p.m. newscast and WBAL-TV 11 News at 10 p.m. on MeTV Baltimore with Andre Hepkins.Weiner will begin her new responsibilities immediately, while Hinson will join the station in July. "We are thrilled to have Deborah join Stan Stovall at the anchor desk," Dan Joerres, president and general manager of WBAL-TV 11, said in a statement. "Her 16 years with WBAL-TV 11 as a breaking news anchor and member of the 11 News I-Team have established her as a newsroom leader, making her a great fit for this position." Weiner, a native of Baltimore, joined WBAL-TV's I-Team in May 2002, working on in-depth and investigative reports, as well as covering Maryland politics. She will continue in that role, as she did when she started anchoring WBAL-TV 11 News at 10 p.m. on MeTV Baltimore in March 2016. Hinson comes to WBAL-TV 11 News from WPTV-TV in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she served as both an anchor and reporter. Prior to West Palm Beach, Ashley was an anchor in her home state of Texas at KAMC-TV. "Ashley is a terrific addition to the WBAL-TV news team. Her experience covering breaking news, like the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, has prepared her for a significant role in our Live. Local. Latebreaking. newsroom," Joerres said. Ashley graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Penn State University in May 2012.
