Campanula cretica is a fairly rare Cretan endemic found only in western Crete. It grows on shady cliffs and steep rocks up to 1700 metres. The flowers are quite showy varying in colour from blue to white. At high altitude the plants get a lot smaller - no more than 15cm compared to lower specimens that can reach 50cm in size.
Campanula cretica flowers between July and September. The photos above were taken in the gorge of Samaria.
