Description

A tuberous perennial having enlarged underground structures for storage of nutrients.

Flowers resemble Red Valerian, but the inflorescence is shorter, more compact and paler pink.

Flowers

A fragrant plant. The flowerhead is pale-pink, dome-shaped.

Leaves

Spatulate broad end of the leaf tapers to the point of connection with the plant stem, Pinnate row of leaflets on either side of the stem. Basal leaves: broad end tapers to base, greyish-green.
Upper leaves: rows of leaflets on either side of the stem.

Fruits Seeds

A cluster of 1-seeded fruit, hairy.
