Deep in color, with a simple swirl you find wet forest floor, cigar box, licorice, spice, flowers, and currants in the perfume. On the palate, the wine is concentrated, rich and dense, but refined, round. and juicy. Even with all that weight, the wine is vibrant, energetic, long and fresh, The finish builds in intensity, leaving you with layers of dark black, red and blue fruits, chocolate, licorice, espresso. and spice. 2022 marks the first vintage Gruaud Larose was organically certified. The wine is a blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Franc.13.65% ABV, 3.8 pH. Picking took place September 7 - September 24. Yield were 30 hectoliters per hectare. Drink from 2027-2060. 95-97 Pts.

"Sehr feinduftig, mit floralen Noten, Mokka, Milchschokolade und Kirschen, mit mehr Luft schwarze Johannisbeere, Zimt, sehr komplexes Duftbild. Der Gaumen ist gradlinig und frisch, mittlerer bis kräftiger Körper, merklich Tannin, die Gerbstoffe, stützen die knackige Frucht, die Säure wirkt stimmig. (2023) 13.6% alcohol, 14% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 83% Cabernet Sauvignon. There’s a hint of wood on the nose at first, but this goes and it’s then so pure. Loaded with ripe fruit, like the LLC, and it feels like it’s punching at a similar level. Not a hair out of place and impressively low alcohol. (JH). Tasted en primeur so score is provisional.

Deep, dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, subtly brighter at the rim. Intense dark fruits of the forest, hints of black cherry, a touch of herbs, precious oak and candied orange zest. Complex, juicy, ripe plums, fresh acidity, mineral-salty finish. Shows good length, and is a versatile, energetic food companion with definite ageing potential.
