STRUTHERS, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Matthew T. Mrvelj, 61 passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Hospice House.

Matthew was born on January 16, 1958, in Youngstown a son of  Mato and Karoline (Kulterer) Mrvelj.

Matthew worked as a self-employed handyman, doing home improvements and repairs. He loved to tinker with mechanical things and small motors. He enjoyed working around his house and spending time with his family.  He loved motorcycles, he especially enjoyed riding his Harley. 
 
Matthew is survived by his son, Derick Sallaz of Youngstown; two sisters, Mary Kropinak and husband, Herm Jackson, of Vienna and Kathy Girard and husband, Tony, of Canterbury, Connecticut; three brothers, John Mrvelj of Struthers, Mark Mrvelj and wife, Anna, of Boardman and Tony Mrvelj and wife, Darlene, of Lordstown; nephews, Allen and Adam Girard, Joshua, Aaron and Nick Mrvelj, he also leaves Judy Sallaz Hudzik, mother of son, and Carla Wetherby, his companion and her son, Jordan Wetherby. Matt was a father that stepped into Jordan’s life and made a difference. 
  
Matt was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Mrvelj.
  
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Kirila Funeral Home, Inc., 258 Poland Avenue in Struthers, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Joseph Rudjak.
     
Burial will take place in the St.  John Cemetery.
