Traffic Anchor/Reporter

Kori Johnson joined the WKRN News 2 team in May 2023 as an evening Traffic Anchor and she is thrilled to be in Middle Tennessee.

Before moving to Nashville, Kori previously worked at KSLA-TV in Shreveport, LA. There she anchored the 4:00 p.m. newscast and hosted a community-driven problem-solving segment called “Getting Answers.” During her time in Northwest Louisiana, Kori covered stories ranging from increasing gun violence, the local impact of the nationwide baby formula shortage epidemic and severe weather coverage.

Prior to that, Johnson was an anchor and reporter with WCTI-TV in New Bern North Carolina, where she extensively covered the community recovery from Hurricane Florence and the 2020 presidential election.

Kori is an Illinois native and a former D1 volleyball player. She graduated from Duquesne University (Go Dukes!) in Pittsburgh with Bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Communications.  She is a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Throughout her journalism career, Kori has been committed to telling your stories. Now, she’s excited to help you get to your destination safely and on time!

Kori is already feeling right at home in Music City! When she’s not monitoring traffic patterns, you can find her at the dog park with her beagle mix, volunteering, trying out new restaurants, or roaming the aisles of Hobby Lobby.
