Racing Louisville's Nadia Nadim tears ACL in left knee

The ACL injury is on a different knee than the ACL injury Nadim sustained in 2021

Racing Louisville FC announced on Sunday that forward Nadia Nadim suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee on Wednesday night while playing at Portland Thorns FC.The injury ends Nadim's 2022 season. It comes a year and a week after Nadim suffered a torn ACL in her right knee in September of 2021. “Obviously I’m devastated for myself, but I also feel sad for my teammates and my club because I can’t help them through the last few games of the season,” Nadim said in a news release. “I have faced obstacles and rough times since I was a child, so you might say I’m an expert in overcoming them. I was born a fighter, and I know that nothing can break me down.”This season, Nadim has scored six goals for Racing Louisville. “I feel so much for her,” said Racing Louisville head coach Kim Björkegren in a news release. “She has worked hard to be back after her last injury, and she deserves better than this. But as we all know, Nadia is mentally strong, and as a club we will do all we can to support her in returning physically stronger as well.”
