The secret is out – Melanie C is out November cover star and at 45 you’re probably wondering how she has managed to maintain such a toned, lean physique.

And, those chiselled abs.

Well, it wasn’t by accident that she reached peak condition in her 40’s, but through a training programme designed to keep her fighting fit. Teaming up with sports nutritionist and PT James Collins, her goal has been to 'feel fit and feel strong'.

Whether touring with Spice Girls or travelling with a group of drag queens, Melanie needs a certain level of stamina to sing and dance her way through her sets.

Agreeing to the Spice Girl's reunion, Melanie wanted to get on that stage and be the 'epitome of sporty.' She wanted to 'look and feel like a superhero'. And it's safe to say she did.

Want in on the action? Lucky for you, WH has Collins' training tactics including the exercise he swears by for a strong core.

Below you'll find the step-by-step so you can spice up your workouts too.

TRX Pike

Targets: Core, arms, shoulders

Do: 3 sets of 25 reps

Mel C Workout - Women's Health UK

(a) Starting on all fours, place your feet into the TRX straps. Lift your knees off the ground to come into plank position.

(b) Keep your back and legs straight and your core braced as you lift your hips and drive your bum into the air, so your body is in an inverted V shape. Slowly lower back down to plank position. Now do another 24 reps.

There you go, you’re ready for a gig at Wembley now.

    Girl power.
