Jeffrey Allegar, age 53 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died suddenly but peacefully on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
Born on March 19, 1968 at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville, NJ, son of the late Irving and Mildred Russo Allegar, Jeff was raised in Somerville, NJ, and had formerly lived in Raritan Borough and Three Bridges, NJ prior to moving to Raritan Township in 2007.
Graduating from Somerset County Vocational Technical School in 1986, Jeff was the well-known and much loved owner and operator of Bell Heating and Air Conditioning, Flemington, NJ. For more than twenty-five years, he perfected his craft and put his heart and soul into each and every job he performed. With a photographic memory, he was known to think creatively and was innovative when it came to solving issues with any task he was faced. This was all in an effort to protect the customer from having to pay anything unnecessarily. A collector, he had just about every tool ever made, which helped immensely on any job site .
His partner in work, and in life, was his loving wife, Nicole Carrete Allegar, with whom Jeff joined hands with in marriage on February 19, 1994. The two met and became friends at the Green Brook Bowling Alley, where Nicole was working the concession stand and Jeff was bowling in a league. Their friendship blossomed quickly, and after seeing ‘Rain Man’ on their first official date, they both pretty much knew that they had found their match.
Nicole and Jeff supported each other in all ways, and both were quick to remind anyone that marriage is not 50/50, its 100/100, and the two definitely were always there for one another. Their love would bring them two children, Abigail and Benjamin, who will forever remember their father as being there for them and giving sage advice. He worked extremely hard to ensure that they always had what they needed to live, and taught them to always stand up for what they believed in and to never get beat up by life; they were the creators of their future.
Though he worked hard each and every day, a sudden heart attack seven years ago made Jeff take a step back to spend a bit more time doing the things he worked so hard for to provide his family. From trap shooting to riding his Harley, from eating broccoli and clams casino to spending time on his boat down at the family shore house in Bayville, Jeff truly did slow down to appreciate the love of family and friends around him. He was a longtime member of both the Flemington Elks Lodge and the Reaville Sportsmen Associates, where he did whatever he could to help the groups achieve success.
Though his life ended much too soon, his family would like everyone reading this to think of Jeff smiling, with a Jim Beam and Coke in hand, and hug those closest to you. Living your life the best way you can, is to honor Jeff’s legacy.
Surviving are his wife, Nicole Carrete Allegar; his daughter, Abigail Allegar; his son, Benjamin Allegar; his siblings, Nancy Allegar, Cindy Koerber and I. William Allegar; his four pawed devoted pups, Rufus, Nelly, Blue and Ruby; several nieces, nephews and extended family; and many friends.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
