Trailhead was easy enough to find at the end of the road, the trail was also very well maintained. There are a couple offshoots of the trails here and there but I stayed to the left on the trail the majority of the time until I got to the lakes. The hike in is short but the HEAT made it feel much longer. We went when the weather in Quincy was about 90+ degrees which I think was a mistake. There was very little to no shade the majority of the time.
I've read the water at the lake is not filterable (due to much of it being irrigation/farm runoff) so we had to pack in extra water for food and drinks. The water was amazing to swim in though, lots of fish too!
Another tip is really stay aware for SNAKES. One of our friends saw a rattlesnake on the way in AND when we were all in our campsite making dinner I looked behind my two friends and there was a decent size snake slithering right into camp, not wary of us humans at all.
"Rattlesnakes are most common near their den areas, which are generally in rock crevices exposed to sunshine. They are most likely to be seen at night and dusk during the spring and fall when moving to and from hibernation sites." - http://wdfw.wa.gov/living/snakes.html
All in all it was a beautiful trip, easy backpacking, BUT avoid it when its that hot, bring in extra water, watch for snakes, and explore the waterfall near the lake!

Are there pit toilets near where you camp or should we plan to bring a trowel to bury? Thanks!
