In 2002 Glendinning acquired NW (New Wales) Control Cables, long know to be the pioneer of ‘High 

Quality” control cables, setting industry benchmark standards for the control cable industry. High 

efficiency the armored core design sets the industry standard for high efficiency. 

High efficiency reduces the operational force at the control head and improves the feel of the control 

for the boat owner. This core is used in our Premium, Heavy Duty and Extra Heavy Duty grabe 

cables. Low Backlash - The close tolerances between the cable core and conduit minimize the backlash 

or lost motion of the cable. Low backlash improves the control feel for the boat operator by

DC Thrusters 

Electric bow thrusters (DC thruster) are sized based on their thrust and are typically used in leisure 

boats ranging from 20ft to100ft. The DC thrusters are less space consuming, easier to install and can 

be an cost efficient alternative to hydraulic thrusters. All Side-Power electric bow and stern thrusters 

are equipped with the patented Intelligent Power Control (IPC) safety function.

Special ignition Protected Thrusters 

To provide reliable and safe thruster installations in more boats, we offer modified versions of our 

DC electric thrusters in watertight housings for use in stern and other locations that may get wet or 

be exposed to gasoline fumes. 

These thrusters are fully ignition protected (ISO 8846) for use in boats with gasoline engines. They 

have a hermetically sealed composite housing around all electric parts. This provides the ignition 

protection as no gasoline fumes can enter and be ignited by sparks.

External Bow Thrusters 

The EX thrusters can be used in all types of vessels such as: sailing boats, catamarans, motorboats and 

houseboats made out out of steel, aluminum, wood or GRP. The flexible mounting at the extreme bow 

of the boat hull allows a deeper position underwater which creates an optimal leverage compared to 

conventional thrusters. EX thrusters can, therefore, move larger boats by using nominally less power 

than conventional thrusters.

AC Thrusters 

There is a limit to the power you can practically generate with DC electrical systems, so for super 

yachts and other larger heavier crafts DC thrusters are rarely an option. The greater thrust and extended 

run time make AC Electric thrusters a good alternative for commercial crafts and other less 

maneuverable yachts. 

All thrusters in the SAC-series uses the digital S-Link control system and can be used in combination 

with hydraulic thrusters on one S-link control bus. Our AC Electric thruster range from 450 to 1400kg 

of thrust for use as either bow or stern thrusters.

THRUSTER SWITCHES AND FUSES 

Main Switches and Fuses 

The most user friendly and safe installation 

is provided with the automatic main switch/ 

fuse. The main power to the thruster is 

conveniently controlled by the Side-Power 

control panel. 

Added safety is provided by the panel’s 

auto-off and the thruster’s overheat sensor, 

also controlling the main switch. Flexible 

mounting options, 

“Plug & Go” wiring, heavy terminals allowing 

double cables and only one item to fit ensures 

fast and easy installation.

Tunnels - GRP 

GRP tunnels are available in several lengths for each thruster 

model. They are purpose built for our thrusters and provide ultimate 

strength, accuracy and osmosis protection to ensure an easy and safe 

thruster installation. The wall thickness is adapted to each thruster’s 

power and boat size. 

Unlike most other thruster tubes, they are not just spun with a single 

tread, but in fact contains several layers of full rowing mat.

Stern and Cowls 

These transom-mounted tunnels are meticulously 

designed to enhance the performance 

of the thruster. Manufactured in 

fiberglass, or composite material, they are 

extremely strong and durable. 

The complete installation is very easy and 

meets the high Side-Power standards. 

The additional cowls make it possible to allow 

a stern thruster installation in boats with 

shallow draft or obstructions on the stern.

Teak Silver Protector is a 1 part timber preservative impregnator that is easy to apply to new decks, sanded 

old weathered decks and newly cleaned teak decks. Teakseal Silver Protector helps turn teak back 

to its natural silver patina colour, and will stop black spot and mould from attacking the deck - leaving it

F-series all purpose buoys and fenders 

Polyform F-series cylindrical fenders are offered in as many as 12 different sizes to fit vessels ranging 

from the smallest dinghy up to commercial ships and Navy vessels. F-series cylindrical fenders have set 

the standard for heavy duty fenders for close to 60 years. The newest generation are made by use of 

Polyform’s unique, in-house developed and patented POLYMATIQ® technology. 

Highest breaking strength is taken care of by the two multiple rib-reinforced rock solid rope holds. 

Tested for strength and flexibility in temperatures ranging from -30oC to +60oC, these heavy duty 

fenders feature high abrasive resistance and high energy absorption (up to 3.8 ton meter for F-13),

The POLYFORM® G-fenders are blow molded from marine-grade Vinyl material. Intended to be used 

for typically light-weight utility fenders - but still designed with re-enforcing ribs along the length of the 

fender body - to assure added strength and abrasion resistance. These fenders are fitted with the fullsize

The MB-series buoys are mainly used for mooring, marking of fishing 

gear and cables, pipelines, and different other surface installations. 

The MB-series buoys are roto-molded from polyethylene (PE) and
