Rakhi Sawant opens up on being disregarded, body-shamed, made fun of, 'Nobody knows how I’ve survived'

After her successful stint in BB 14, Rakhi Sawant shared how she's feeling overwhelmed with all the love she has been gaining. She also opened up about being body-shamed and ridiculed during her bad phase.

Who does not know Rakhi Sawant? The dancer-actress has been in the Indian film industry for over two decades now. And while her personal and professional controversies have been the reasons for her popularity, over her achievements, the actress has been unapologetic about it all. Also considered to be an entertainer, Rakhi owns her place in Bollywood with no close competition.

While she had started to fade into oblivion in the last few years, with no major projects to talk about, her recent stint on the reality show Bigg Boss 14 has turned the tables for her. Rakhi grabbed headlines yet again, with her game strategy in the show, and reached the finale despite being a wild card entry which is no mean feat.

In an exclusive interview with ETimes, an emotional Rakhi shared that she was completely overwhelmed with the love she is getting in her life, again. “I have always been disregarded by people. People would make fun of me, they would pass comments on me, body shame, face shame me. They would make fun of my English and that I can’t speak English. Nobody knows how I’ve survived the difficult times. I was called ugly looking, fat, motormouth, gutter mouth,” she was quoted. Rakhi further added that she took it all with a pinch of salt and forgave everyone and focussed on her work instead.

 The actress further said she was still unable to fathom the response, and it looks like a dream to her. Rakhi said, “Everything seems like a dream and when I step out, I get scared if all this love and admiration is true. I get nervous 'ki ab kya comment aayega'... I am confident but I am nervous at the same time.”

Feeling emotional about it all, Rakhi is happy to see the scenario changing, and said that she still unable to trust the love and affection she is receiving from everyone.
