Danny Phantom Creator Would Want Tom Holland to Play the Character in Live-Action

There are other actors not pushing their 30s, y'know.

Butch Hartman, the creator of the hit Nickelodeon show Danny Phantom, revealed that, if there ever is a live-action Danny Phantom movie, he wants Spider-Man actor Tom Holland to play the teenage ghost.

During a panel at MegaCon (via ComicBook), a fan asked Hartman who he'd like to portray Danny Fenton.

"Tom Holland, all the way," Hartman said. "It's got to be Tom Holland."

Danny Phantom originally aired on Nickelodeon back in 2007. The show follows a 14-year-old boy named Danny Fenton who, after having his molecules rearranged by his parent's ghost portal, is gifted an array of supernatural powers. Danny's powers allowed him to phase through walls, disappear, and fly among other things. Throughout the show's three-year run, Danny and his friends would solve a myriad of misadventures capturing ghosts and sending them back into the Ghost Dimension.

You know, I can see it here.

The panel comes months before Danny Phantom's 20th anniversary in April. Although it has been years since the Nickelodeon show's final episode aired, fans have been long clamoring for the sci-fi cartoon to make a return, whether it be in the form of an animated continuation or in live-action. Fortunately, Danny Phantom has made a comeback of sorts with his recent appearance as a playable character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.

It should be noted, that as of the time of publication, Holland is a crisp 27 years old. Meaning, that by the time any Hollywood gears would hypothetically start to turn toward making Hartman's dream casting a reality, the Marvel actor would be comfortably in his 30s by then. Safe to say, "I'm going ghost, fellow kids" wouldn't be as catchy a phrase as one might hope.
