Characteristic Features

-Shell is oblong oval, solid, thick and rather compressed

-Shell surface bears nodulous radiating ribs which are bifurcate near the
margin

-White with a few purplish streaks on posterior slope. Inside white with
purple-stained hinge 3-4cm in length
