Acer palmatum Chitose yama

Acer palmatum Chitose yama

This is a very nice tree that must have a bit of afternoon shade. It has simply fabulous spring and fall color. It also has a very classy serrated leaf shape that is stunning in the summer with it's dark green color. This tree is somewhat of the weeping type which is relatively rare. There are only about a dozen or so true weepers among the hundreds of JM's available. This neat JM has an added plus of being relatively small in stature. It is perfect for something truly different in smaller spaces. I have not seen a lot of weeping in this cultivar but the leaves are fantastic in form and shape and the tree is super beefy and thick more bushy than weeping from what I have seen. This tree has a lot to offer for just about everyone.  Occasionally used for bonsai. Translates to: "Thousand Year Mountain"
