With no
records (recent or otherwise) showing on the NBN Atlas,
the chance find of a single adult Chrysomela aenea,
on Alder at Warsop Main Pit Top in late June 2015,
may well be the first Nottinghamshire record. It eventually took a
further six years before finding a second individual, from the same site
in May 2021 and again a year later in May 2022
(Johnson, R.). Chrysomela
aenea appears to be widespread over much of the
north-west UK, so may well be increasing its
south-easterly range in much the same way as Agelastica
alni (the Alder Leaf Beetle) has done in the past
few years. |
