Common Name Powell's Stelis [American Botanist in Panama 1900's]

Found in Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama in wet montane forests at elevations around 1300 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, approximate ramicauls enveloped by 2 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic-ovate, obtuse, attenuate below in to the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later spring on an erect, [7 to 9 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with either infundibular acuminate or almost flat, wide mouthed, revolute sided, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying light green stipled with red flowers with brown-red central apparatus.
