Caherconnell is a large nearly circular stone fort in the Burren.
It is 140 to 145 feet in external diameter, has 12 feet thick walls, and is anywhere from six to 14 feet high.
It is thought to have been inhabited from 400-1200 A.D., although one researcher suggests that its entrance may have been built at a later date, which suggests that it may have been inhabited at a later date.
