About this app
This is a revival of the "music-synthesizer-for-android" project. It has been updated to run on newer Android devices.
The app emulates the classic DX7 FM synth. It currently comes with just the standard, default sound bank.
Supports:
* User loadable DX7 patch bank sysex (syx) files
* MIDI In (user selectable channel)
* scroll-able, 6 octave onscreen keyboard, selectable for 1 or 2 row display
* cutoff, resonance, overdrive controls (mapped to midi CC)
In the future more features may be added, such as:
* support for the newer Android MIDI API
* editing patches

It's not a synth, no LFO, no oscillators. It's trying to be GM rompler, but with few bugs - instruments number don't match voice timbre standard, no CC, sustain don't work. On the bright side it's not a bad app, minimalistic and fast (and floss?), doesn't ask for unnecessary privileges. I wish I could provide just feedback without rating. Dev does have potential. gl š¤

Thank you for your feedback, but it very much is a FM synth, not a sampler, it's open source so you can easily verify that for yourself. Because it's not a soundfont sampler, its not intended to provide GM instruments. And I do plan to add more controls and FM modulator settings in future releases.

Still playing with this but seems most usable compared to many others. Also works with little to no latency on my phone.

No keyboard. Fun (if any) lasted 2 minutes, then I uninstalled it...
