Hon. Babayemisi Kehinde Fakunmoju on the occasion of his
declaration of intent to run for the July 24th Councillorship Election under
the platform of ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS (APC).

Hon. Babayemisi Kehinde Fakunmoju who has served in different sphere of the Community Service, he is the Chief whip of Community policing forum CPF Ikorodu Division, the general Secretary of LAPEGA/ILADO CDA parafa alagemo, the Chairman ward E2 joint CDA in Ikorodu North LCDA and an Ex-officio member of the CDC Ikorodu North LCDA.

His declaration speech goes thus:

I welcome you all to this special occasion of my Declaration of Intent to seek the nomination of the All
Progressive Congress (APC) to Contest the July 24th Councillorship Election.
I feel honoured by your presence as I offer myself to serve the good people of Erikorodo ward and
want to use the opportunity to offer our people visionary, competent and purposeful leadership. I am
happy that our party has adopted the modified open Primaries in selecting its flag bearers at the
forthcoming local government election in the state. This will ensure the emergence of candidates
whose mandate will be informed by the popular will of the members of our party.

Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, leadership is about staying focus to achieve goals despite
challenges. As one of the Executive of the CDC in Ikorodu North LCDA, secretary police/CDA forum
Ddu north LCDA, Chief whip Community policing forum(CPF) Ikorodu Division and the Chairman
of United Joint CDA Erikorodo ward with over fifty-five(55) CDA’s, we have been faced with challenges
but with the support of our team, we have been able to surmount them and remain focus on bringing
good governance to the people at the grassroots.

Distinguished leaders of our party, as we search for our party flag bearers, let us scout for strong
thar Sive, competent and visionary leadership that will bring a robust quality representation
tnat will create jobs, rebuild our infrastructure, provide social services and tackle insecurity In our
cOmmunities. This is the change we deserve and this is the change the APC promised to offer the
people, that is why l am proud to be a member of the ruling All Progressive Congress.

I want to lead or be part of a government that will invest in its people because people constitute the
wealth of any nation and the primary purpose of any government is the provision of welfare and
protection of lives and property. Hence, I want to lead or be part of a government of Unity where
every resident would be treated equally regardless of our ethnic, religious and political differences.
When we send our children to schools, when we board public transports and when we go to the
market, we don’t ask ourselves what party, ethnics or religious group do we belong to. According to
Karl Marx,” he said “Religion is the opium of the people”_ and as such we should not allow this
cankerworm to further divide us.

Fellow party men and women, my desire to run for the Councillorship position was borne out of my
conviction to serve my people diligently, having acquired the required skills, attitude and knowledge
as a community leader. I believe I have what it takes to represent the good people of ward E2.
Itherefore present to you my 7-point agenda with the theme “THEATRE”
1. Transparency.
i. Honesty.
ii. Empowerment.
iv. Accountability.
V. Transportation.
vi. Equity
vii. Reliability.

I want to assure you of a robust representation that would reflect on the lives of the common man on
the street. I will use my experience as a grassroots politician and as a community leader to bring the
right development to the good people of ward E2 and Ikorodu North asawhole..
In conclusion, I humbly and respectively call on our leaders, stakeholders to support my aspiration as
Iintend to contribute my quota to the growth and development of APC led government at the state
and local governments.

I believe with you on our side and the unbounding determination of our
members to change the course of our history victory is sure.
