Encyclia cordigera 'Hinomaru' x sib

The large, sensational flowers of Encyclia cordigera are considered to be among the finest in this genus by orchid aficionados. With blooms that emit various rich fragrances, these orchids are highly adored by collectors. This Encyclia variety can handle a wider range of climates and are thus considered easy to grow. Naturally found in fairly dry and bright low-elevation forests, these orchids thrive in warmer to intermediate conditions. To achieve the best flowering during blooming season, ensure your plant is grown in bright light, nothing less than 2000 foot candles. These orchids grow in tight clusters and, remaining fairly compact, are a great addition to small collections.

Grow in coarse open media as this species can not tolerate stale media.
