orkney

If you’re reading this site and wondering what on earth an “Orcadian” even is, it’s someone who comes from this wild and wonderful collection of islands sitting eight miles off the top of Scotland.

We have more history than you can shake a stick at, beautiful landscapes that are consistently rated as inspiration for creatives, wildlife on every corner of the coast, and some of the best sunsets on the planet.

You can see the northern lights here, visit a 5,000-year-old neolithic village (that’s even older than the pyramids!), and you don’t need to look very far to find a ton of incredible views like this:

A 5 minute drive from where I grew up!

If you’re wondering why Orkney remains so underrated – so am I. Honestly, though? Most of us Orcadians quite like the fact we are such a well-kept secret – but the truth is the secret is getting out and the popularity of the islands is blowing up year on year.

And I, for one, am proud of everything Orkney has to offer, so I’m here to shine a light on it!
