Introducing Soroptimist International Foundation

Soroptimist International recently launched the new Soroptimist International Foundation, which was announced at the SI Convention in Dublin, Ireland, in July 2023. Led by the SI president, the Soroptimist International Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Soroptimist projects aimed at enhancing the lives of women and girls globally.

The Soroptimist International Foundation will operate similarly to the December 10th Appeal. The goal is for Soroptimists to raise funds for specific projects and donate in honor of Human Rights Day on December 10. However, Soroptimists will have a greater say in the type of projects SI supports and funds. SIA clubs and members will notice the change from the December 10th Appeal to the Soroptimist International Foundation mentioned on all giving and club transaction forms. 

Contributions already remitted for the December 10 Appeal will be directed to the new Foundation. The Club Transaction Form has also been updated to reflect the Foundation as a club gift designation.

Currently, the Soroptimist International Foundation is seeking funds for projects focused on education for girls in war-torn countries. Additional project suggestions are not only welcomed but encouraged.
