Definition:
  • Glycosuria :When the concentration of glucose in blood is higher because of which glucose cannot be reabsorbed and it remains in urine, this condition is called glycosuria
  • Ketonuria.The presence of excess ketone bodies in urine is known as ketonuria
Cause:
  • Glycosuria:It happens when blood glucose level is high due to insulin deficiency.Increased glucose level in filtrate inhibits the water reabsorption and urine output is increased.
  • Ketonuria: Ketone bodies are produced when stored fat and protein breakdown occurs during fasting or starvation.It can be seen in diabetic people.
