How To Take Care Rope Burns

If you are a regular at gym and like doing cross training you might be at a risk of getting rope burns. Rope burns just like any other skin related injury at the gym are caused due to extreme exposure to a surface where friction has taken place. If your skin gets reddish and feels irritated after a rope exercise, you have been exposed to a rope burn.
To avoid such a circumstance you can apply gym friendly chalk before beginning your exercise. You can also make sure that the rope you are using has been sanitized after someone else has used it.

STEPS TO TAKE IN CASE OF ROPE BURN:

CLEAN THE WOUND:

    CLEAN THE WOUND

It is important to clean the wound with cold running water. In most cases the wound is caused due to friction and this is why it is necessary to cool down the wound. Once cleaned with cold water, observe if the wound needs further attention. If it is still red, clean it with an anti-septic in order to save the wound from any infections.

    SEEK MEDICAL HELP IF NECESSARY:

If you haven’t got a tetanus shot in the last five years of the wound, make sure to consult a medical professional for your wound. It can be septic and turn into an infection, this is why in case the redness and irritation avails, you need to seek medical help.

    USE CALLUS PERFORMANCE HEALING SALVE:

To make the wound less irritating and for quick healing use Callus Performance healing salve once you have cleaned the wound with cold water. The affected area needs to be given special attention and healing salve has qualities of giving a cool touch. As the wound is caused due to friction, using salve is a perfect solution due to its cooling qualities.

      COVER THE WOUND

Once the wound is taken care of, cover the wound with a bandage or a clean cloth to stop it from getting exposed from any harmful or infection creating circumstances. If the wound is covered it will also tend to heal more quickly.

        TAKE AFTER BURN MEASURES

Once the wound is looked after, it is equally important to take care of it after the bandaging is off. It will take a few days to heal and this is why it is important to keep away from rope related exercises during that time. Keep re applying the healing salve as needed and use sterilized bandages so the wound can heal quicker.

If your wound is a second degree burn or even more then it is important to seek medical help for the reason being that you might need a stronger anti septic medicine and special care. If the wound is not looked after carefully it can turn out to be infectious. This is why it is important to not ignore the burn and not let it out in open because that can further infect the affected areas. Lastly, go easy on yourself. Gym injuries are normal and just a sign of hard work, take care and keep hustling!
