The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is reaching out on social media in hopes of adding a spark to a cold case.

Andrew Dixon was 20 years old when he was shot and killed outside a friend’s home in the 700 block of Washington Avenue, West of U.S. 1 in Lake Worth on December 14, 2015.

That was more than two years ago, but it does not mean detectives aren’t continuing to look into leads.

“He was just a joyful person,” said Sam Dixon, Andrew’s father. The 20-year-old has two children, ages 2, 5 and 6. They tell CBS 12 he wanted a better life for them. Now, he will not get to see them graduate or walk them down the aisle.

“His kids are missing him a lot, they ask his mom about him all the time,” Hope McKeliver, Andrew’s stepmom said.

They said a gunman was on foot, shot Andrew and took off running. They explained there were many witnesses, but the problem is no one is coming forward.

“All we want is, if you really cared for him and loved him like we do, then come forward and say something,” said McKeliver.

PBSO shared his story Friday afternoon to help bring the cold case back into the public’s eye. As for the family, they just want closure and justice for Andrew.

Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Gelfand at 561-688-4023.
